Introduction

Purevon (package: com.rasmi.purevon) is an Android dialer and SMS/MMS application that provides a secure, modern alternative to the default phone and messaging apps. We take your privacy seriously, and the app is built around the principle of "your data stays on your device".

Core idea: Purevon has no backend servers storing personal data. Your contacts, call logs, messages, voice recordings, and all other data remain locally on your phone, encrypted at rest.

1. Data the App Handles

1.1 Contacts

The app reads your contacts from the Android system to display them in the dialer and messaging screens.
It can add or modify contacts upon your request (e.g., saving a new number).
Contacts are never sent to any server or third party.

1.2 Phone & Call Logs

The app reads and writes call logs (incoming, outgoing, missed).
Calls are placed using the official Android Telecom APIs.
Spam call detection uses a local list only — no external services are contacted.
Call audio may be recorded locally if you explicitly enable that feature.

1.3 SMS & MMS Messages

When set as your default messaging app, Purevon reads, sends, and receives messages over the carrier network.
Messages are stored in a local database encrypted with SQLCipher.
SMS/MMS sending is performed via the carrier MMSC — standard behavior for any messaging app.

1.4 Location

Location is used only when you tap the "Share location" button inside a conversation.
Coordinates are fetched on demand and sent as a Google Maps link to the recipient.
The app does not track your location in the background and does not store it persistently.

1.5 Microphone (Audio Recording)

Used for recording voice messages or call recording (if you enable the feature).
Audio files are saved locally on your device only.

1.6 Camera & Media

Used to attach photos and videos to MMS messages on your request.

1.7 Notifications

Notifications for incoming calls, new messages, callback reminders, and fake calls.

2. What We Never Collect

❌ We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information.
❌ We do not use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics.
❌ We do not use Crashlytics or any crash reporting service.
❌ We do not use advertising identifiers.
❌ We do not send your data to our servers or any third party.
❌ We do not show ads, and we do not sell your data.

4. How We Protect Your Data (Data Safety)

4.1 Encryption at Rest

The local database is fully encrypted using SQLCipher (AES-256).
The encryption key is randomly generated (256-bit) once on your device.
The key is protected by the Android Keystore and never leaves the device.
Encryption uses the AES/GCM algorithm.

4.2 Encryption in Transit

Internet connections use HTTPS (except MMS which follows carrier standards).
Network Security Configuration prevents insecure connections.

4.3 Biometric Authentication

Supports Biometric authentication (fingerprint / Face Unlock) to protect access to the app.

5. Third Parties

The app uses the following libraries; none of them transmit personal data to external servers:

Google Play Services (Location) — to obtain the location only when you actively share it.
SQLCipher — encrypts the local database (runs entirely on-device).
Jsoup — parses HTML for link previews (runs entirely on-device).
Klinker SMS/MMS Library — handles MMS over the APN.
Coil / ExoPlayer — display images and video locally.

6. Your Rights

You can erase all app data at any time from Android settings: Apps → Purevon → Storage → Clear data.
Uninstalling the app permanently removes all of its data from your device.
You can revoke any permission from Android settings at any time.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any update will be published on this page along with a revised "Last updated" date above.
